On Thursday, as Caitlyn Jenner hit the red-carpet for a glitzy beauty awards ceremony in Dublin city, Kylie Jenner was giving birth to her first child.

The 68-year-old former Olympian had been invited to Ireland to accept a Beauty Icon gong at the inaugural Xpose Benefit Awards, which took place at the Mansion House.

The star opted for a black velvet midi dress for the occasion and looked fab.

Meanwhile, Kylie and her boyfriend of less than a year, Travis Scott, welcomed their baby girl at 4.46pm LA time – 12.56am Friday morning Irish time, when Caitlyn was still enjoying the event.

“I’ve never felt love and happiness like this, I could burst!” 20-year-old Kylie said on Twitter and Instagram on Sunday as she – finally! – revealed the news.

And strangely, in a heartwarming YouTube clip that Kylie shared to mark the birth of her daughter, Caitlyn did not feature.

Her mother, Kris, along with her elder siblings – Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Rob, and Kendall – as well as a gaggle of wider friends and family all appear in the 11-minute long footage.

The voice of the former Bruce Jenner – as Caitlyn was known at the time of Kylie’s birth in 1997 – can be heard briefly in the opening segments of the clip. However, neither Bruce nor Caitlyn are heard of or seen subsequently.

On Thursday evening at the Mansion House, Ms Jenner spoke meaningfully – telling the gathered guests: “We talk about beauty, fashion, all those types of things… first of all, the way I look at it, I look at this room and there are beautiful women everywhere, I think beauty is more than just what you see. Beauty is about your soul.”

She continued by discussing womanhood and her thoughts on feminism, saying: “I remember one time, somebody asked, ‘Are you a feminist?’ I said, ‘Oh my God, I never even thought about, what do you mean am I a feminist?’

“It was just a lot of issues out there that I’m working on. If you think a feminist is a woman who is strong, who is independent, intelligent and can take this world and grasp it and go after it, yes there’s a lot of things.”

Other stars who were in attendance on the night included Pippa O’Connor, Roz Purcell, Rosie Connolly, and Love Island‘s Montana Rose Brown.

Meanwhile, Kylie’s mother, sisters, and boyfriend have all been reacting to her happy news online.

On Sunday evening, Caitlyn had yet to comment on the matter.
