This is a breaking news story.
Met Éireann has today, 17th November, upgraded Ireland's weather warning status to
BITTERLY.
It's a status blue weather warning, meaning that anyone with an ounce of cop on should stay indoors and avoid even so much as looking out at that cold.
Met Éireann are urging members of the public to take heed of the weather warning. We spoke to head meteorologist with Met Éireann, Jonathan McFakesurname, earlier.
Folks what we are looking at here is a situation where it's just very, very cold outside. That wind would honest to God just go through you. I've heard stories of bottles of water turning to solid ice within minutes of being left outside. Now there was also a gobshite spotted in Galway walking around in shorts and I can tell you the only place he'd want to be heading to is A&E dressed like that. Gowl.
Further reports are reaching us suggesting that temperatures could plummet as low as 0°C today, clearly dispelling all rumours that climate change is real.
We here at Her.ie are urging our readers to mind themselves. Plenty of layers, stick the heating on and be sure to take a few Snapchats of yourself in front of the fire with the caption 'Cosy night in xx'.
We'll bring you more as this story develops.
