The BBC have announced that Chris Evans will be the new host of Top Gear.
The TV and Radio presenter has signed a three-year-deal to replace Jeremy Clarkson on the “new-look show”.
The presenter is a car enthusiast.
Chris has said he is “thrilled” to come on board with his “favourite programme of all time”.
The 42-year-old said: “I promise I will do everything I possibly can to respect what has gone on before and take the show forward.”
The car enthusiast gushed about the programme which he says was “created by a host of brilliant minds who love cars and understand how to make the massively complicated come across as fun, devil-may-care and effortless”.
Chris recently interviewed Jeremy Clarkson about his departure from the show.
BBC Controller Kim Shillinglaw has revealed she is “delighted” Chris will present the series.
She said: “His knowledge of and passion for cars are well-known and combined with his sheer inventiveness and cheeky unpredictability, he is the perfect choice to take our much-loved show into the future.”
Production of the new series is set to start in the coming weeks.
