Nicola Coughlan nabs spot on Vogue’s best-dressed women list

Truly deserved.

We already knew that Nicola Coughlan is a style icon, and now it seems the rest of the world is realising it too.

The Derry Girls star was named on Vogue Magazine’s Best-Dressed Women list for 2021, which celebrates the entertainment industry’s most fashionable ladies.

The prestigious magazine included a picture of the Irish actress wearing Molly Goddard at the Golden Globes, and wrote that she “stole” their hearts.

The listing reads: “The always-cheerful star has carved out herself a niche in whimsical dresses from London’s finest, from Simone Rocha to Molly Goddard (and yes she will wear a cardigan with her tumbling tulle, thank you very much.) Bring on the season two press tour.”

Reacting the news, the Bridgerton star immediately took to social media.

Sharing the screenshot, she wrote: “As if @voguemagazine’s Best Dressed Women of 2021 are Lady Gaga, Zendaya, and a woman who wore pyjama bottoms to work yesterday (me).”

Nicola then thanked her stylist Aimée Croysdill.

She wrote: “This is an insane honour and something I owe completely to @aimeecroysdill; my legendary stylist and epically cool pal.”

Indeed, the Galway actress’ place on Vogue’s list of stylish women is well and truly deserved.

Nicola shot to stardom for her performance as Clare Devlin on the Channel 4 sitcom Derry Girls. She was then further catapulted into the public eye for her turn as Penelope Featherington on Netflix’s Bridgerton.

Since then, Nicola has graced the red carpet with stunning, quirky looks.

For instance, earlier this year, she wore an elegant, orange Valentino dress to the BAFTAs, and stepped out in a pink Simone Rocha dress for British Vogue’s fashion dinner in September.

Nicola is in excellent company on Vogue’s list, and is joined by Zendaya, Lady Gaga, Kate Moss, Angelina Jolie, Due Lipa, Rihanna, Jourdan Dunn, Isabelle Huppert, Gemma Chan, Zoë Kravitz and Cynthia Erivo.
