While Katherine has long sported golden tresses, the 27 Dresses star has decided to kick things up a notch, bleaching her waves to platinum blonde. The Grey’s Anatomy actress debuted her fresh look on Instagram yesterday, crediting the decision to brighten up her locks to a new film role. In the snap she shared with her followers, the 36-year old said while she’s still adjusting to the colour, it got the thumbs up from husband Josh: “Went platinum for my new movie role... still getting used to it. The good news is @joshbkelley is vibing it...;)”

The news of a new movie role comes just weeks after Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes confirmed the star won’t be reprising her role as Dr. Izzie Stevens in the drama again: “No. I’m done with that story. I’ve turned that idea over in my mind a thousand times and thought about how it would go. And I don’t think so.”
