“Get your own Saoirse Ronan – stop trying to take ours!”
Twitter is absolutely livid after a Sky News Reporter flippantly insinuated Saoirse Ronan is British, when discussing Brits nominated for BAFTAs.
The 21-year-old got the nod for her sensational Brooklyn role, in which she plays a young Irish girl living in America.
Reading out the actresses in the Best Leading Actress category, the reporter said: “If we look at the leading actress category, I think we can take
“If we look at the leading actress category, I think we can take Saoirse Ronan as one of ours. She’s in Brooklyn. She’s nominated.”
The slip up comes in the wake of huge controversy surrounding London Critics’ Circle naming Colin Farrell, Michael Fassbender and Saoirse Ronan as British.
As expected, Twitter took the whole thing pretty badly.
