The bookies are having a field day as rumours swirl around the future of This Morning and its presenter lineup.

Tensions have been high between Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby amid rumours of a falling out, and viewers aren’t wasting any time in suggesting replacements.

Ant and Dec have since been slashed into 5/1 from 25/1 with BoyleSports to swap Saturday nights for weekday mornings by taking over as new hosts of This Morning.

This comes after it was announced that they would be stepping away from their fan-favourite Saturday Night Takeaway slot.

The 20th series of the show airs next year and now that they have been freed up for time, they are being backed for a sensational switch to daytime TV.

With Phil and Holly well backed to go their separate ways, Ant and Dec are now into second favourites to take over.

However, Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond remain 7/2 frontrunners to swap their Friday slot for a more permanent role should a vacancy actually arise.

It’s a short 5/2 shot Holly gets a new co-presenter by the end of the year after ex-colleague Eamonn Holmes claimed this week that the public have sussed there is ‘no chemistry’ left in her on-screen relationship with Phillip.

Speaking about the latest trends, Lawrence Lyons, from BoyleSports said: “Speculation is rife and as bets on Phil and Holly separating continue to snowball, Ant and Dec are being well backed to steal their slots on the sofa.”
