Aoibhín Garrihy and her husband John Burke welcomed their first child, a baby girl yesterday and shared a stunning Instagram post yesterday evening.
However, the name was kept a secret until now when proud father John shared another sweet post, revealing that their daughter is named Hanorah.
Aobhín gave birth in University Hospital Galway and as you’ll see below, she looked cool, calm and collected, extremely impressive when you’re about to welcome your first child.
Hanorahs are few and far between these days. It was more popular in the 1960s but in recent years there have been very few births registered in Ireland with the name Hanorah.
It’s an Anglicisation of Onóra, which is in itself an Irish form of the Latin name, Honoria, meaning ‘honour’.
Aoibhín and John married in October 2016 in Clare with the reception held in the very scenic The Armada Hotel, a property owned by John’s family.
The actress who has also kickstarted BEO, a series of health and wellness events, wore a bespoke bridal gown designed by Irish designer Emma Manley.
We’re already excited to see a snap of Hanorah and you just know her aunties, Ailbhe and Doireann, will be thrilled with their new niece.
