The myth, the man, the legend.
Roy Keane celebrates his 44th birthday today and we couldn’t let the day pass without honouring Cork’s finest export in some way.
Love him or hate him, we have a lot of grá for Keano here at Her HQ and despite some dodgy beard choices (yes, we said it), he’s still one of our favourites.
We can’t help but think what an amazing friend he’d make… and here’s why.
Straight talker
Love him or loathe him, Roy Keane isn’t a man to be messed with and isn’t known for mincing his words either.
We all need one friend that will tell us the brutal honest truth and Keano would definitely fit that bill.
Hugs…
Because everyone needs a hug from their BFF every now and again… isn’t that right Keano?
Up for a laugh
Never one to make a joke when it comes to his beloved game, Keano does enjoy the odd giggle and knows how to take a break from his death stare and participate in a game of laughter.
A sound lad really
Roy Keane was born to be a leader, even David Beckham agrees.
When you need a friend to pick you up and give you some great advice (and possibly a kick up the arse) look no further.
Sense of humour
Anyone that saw Roy Keane’s interview with Today FM’s Matt Cooper in the Olympia will know he’s well able to have a laugh and deliver a joke in dead pan fashion.
We all need someone who can tell a good joke to be fair.
Meanwhile, Mario Rosenstock met the birthday boy in a hotel a few years back and spent a whole six minutes in his company…
Pride and passion
We love it when our friends are as driven and passionate as we are and Keano certainly fits the bill.
Dog lover
Just look at this picture.
Enough said.
Strong and silent
While we admit that he’s up for a laugh, he’s also known for being a quiet man – often one of few words.
A good friend respects a person’s quiet time and space so Keano is definitely the man for the job.
And finally…
There’s only one Keano.
Isn’t that reason enough?!
