“I just want to thank you all for your love and support over the years. Thank you so much and stick around.”

The team managing Betty White’s social media pages have shared the legendary actress’ final video message to her fans.

White passed away aged 99 on 31 December 2021. She would have turned 100-years-old earlier this month.

Her death certificate said that her cause of death was a cerebrovascular accident, which happened days before she passed away.

In the video, Betty thanks her fans for all their support. The message was recorded in advance of her birthday and it was originally intended to be played at the launch of a film celebrating her life.

She tells the camera: “I just want to thank you all for your love and support over the years. Thank you so much and stick around.”

In the caption, White’s team shared the final video to thank fans for contributing to a fundraiser launched in the actress’ name. The Betty White Challenge encouraged her supporters to donate money to their local animal shelter as animal welfare was a cause close to her heart.

The caption reads: “It’s just absolutely amazing how much money all of you raised for the animals through #thebettywhitechallenge. She could never have imagined such an outpouring of love and would have been so grateful to everyone.

“When we recorded her special messages to fans who attended the movie, we also recorded one that we had planned to put on social media on her birthday.”

It continues: “She was using the occasion of her 100th birthday to celebrate YOU – her fans. She knew how lucky she was; she felt the love, and she never took it for granted.

“I think it’s appropriate to post today as a thank you from Betty and the animals.”
