"I couldn’t take the pain anymore honestly"

Britney Spears has broken her silence for the first time since the news broke about her divorce from Sam Asghari. While rumours have been circulating around infidelity and prenups, the pop princess did not address these and rather shared her personal thoughts and feeling about the situation. In true Brit style, she uploaded a video of herself dancing in her home with a lengthy caption. "As everyone knows, Hesam and I are no longer together … 6 years is a long time to be with someone so, I’m a little shocked but … I’m not here to explain why because its honestly nobody’s business !!!," she began. Spears, 41, and Ashghari, 29, wed in June 2022 in a ceremony at their home in Thousand Oaks, California, after dating for six years. The star-studded wedding took place just months after a judge ruled to end the conservatorship that had controlled the Toxic singer's personal life and finances for 13 years. During court proceedings that led to her release, Spears said she longed to get married and start a new family without any restrictions. The 41-year-old's tell-all book, The Woman in Me, is set to hit shelves this October and it is expected she will delve into the conservatorship under her father, Jamie Spears, that began after she was hospitalised in 2007 for mental health issues. "I would love to show my emotions and tears on how I really feel but some reason I’ve always had to hide my weaknesses !!! If I wasn’t my dad’s strong soldier, I would be sent away to places to get fixed by doctors !!! But that’s when I needed family the most !!!," Spears continued. Telling her fans and followers she is "actually doing pretty damn good," she concluded her statement: "You’re supposed to be loved unconditionally … not under conditions !!!! So I will be as strong as I can and do my best !!! Anyways have a good day and don’t forget to smile !!!" Ashgari is believed to have filed for divorce in a Los Angeles Superior Court under 'irreconcilable differences.' Following accusations around their divorce, a representative for Asghari issues a statement issued to the Hollywood Reporter denying media reports that he allegedly threatened to release embarrassing materials about Spears, unless concessions were made in the couple’s prenup. “There are many claims that Sam is challenging the prenup and threatening to exploit his ex-wife with videos,” Asghari’s representative, Brandon Cohen, said. “However, all these claims are false, as no negative intention has ever been directed towards her and never will be. Sam has always and will always support her.” It has also since been reported by the Independent UK that Spears the Hold Me Closer singer has hired a team of top Hollywood lawyers to assist with divorce proceedings. According to these reports, Spears is apparently working with Laura Wasser and Mathew Rosengart, the former federal prosecutor who played an instrumental role in freeing her from her 13-year-long conservatorship.
