Charlotte Crosby explains why she dissolved her lip filler

Sarah McKenna Barry

“I absolutely loved my lips.”

TV personality Charlotte Crosby has explained exactly why she decided to get rid of her lip filler.

The Geordie Shore star discussed her relationship with filler and her appearance on Nova Podcast’s Charlotte Crosby. On the show, she said that it wasn’t comments from trolls that led her to the decision to dissolve.

She said: “I did not get my lips dissolved because of trolls because, quite frankly, I’ve been trolled for so long about them, and I did not care.”

On the contrary, she said that she loved her lips, but after pregnancy she experienced some swelling issues and had to intervene.

“I absolutely loved my lips, but it got to the point after pregnancy, they had swelled a lot,” she said on the podcast.

She then said that she felt she looked “ridiculous” as a result of the swelling and decided that after eight years of having lip filler, it was time to get them dissolved.

Last year, Channel 5 aired (and subsequently issued an apology for) a show titled Celebrities: What Happened To Your Face? Charlotte, who was the subject of one of the episodes, branded it “immoral” and “offensive”.

Issuing a statement at the time, she said: “In 2021, a main UK channel and production company believed it would be a good use of airtime, to dissect my physical appearance.

“At a time when the broadcast and media world were backing a policy of ‘be kind’, Channel 5 and Crackit decided to commission this one-hour special on ‘rubber-lip Charlotte’ (their words not mine).”

In a statement, Channel 5 insisted that they take “duty of care” very seriously, and apologised for “any upset caused”.

The statement read: “While we acknowledge that the programme was Ofcom-compliant, we have taken on board Charlotte’s feedback and removed the episode from our streaming platform My5”.
