Dead To Me actress Christina Applegate has made her first official public appearance since revealing her MS diagnosis.

Christina attended the unveiling of her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame alongside Katey Sagal, who played her mother in the long-running sitcom Married With Children, and Linda Cardellini, who stars opposite her on Dead To Me.

At the ceremony, Christina said that she has wanted to be an actress since she was five-years-old.

“This day means more to me than you can possibly imagine,” she said.

After stating that she can’t stand for very long, she thanked a number of people, including her friends and family.

Christina shared her MS diagnosis last year on Twitter.

She wrote: “A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS. It’s been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition.

“It’s been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some a**hole blocks it.”

She added: “As one of my friends that has MS said ‘we wake up and take the indicated action’. And that’s what I do. So now I ask for privacy. As I go through this thing. Thank you xo.”

A year later, Christina spoke to the New York Times about how she is dealing with the condition. She explained that the crew behind Dead To Me didn’t put any pressure on her to film shooting, but she was determined to do so anyway.

She said: “I had an obligation. The powers that be were like, ‘Let’s just stop. We don’t need to finish it.'”

One of the options presented to her was for production to put together some episodes with previously recorded footage.

“I said, ‘No. We’re going to do it, but we’re going to do it on my terms.'”
