The more you know.

The Wagatha Christie trial is back underway this morning and as more evidence is being shown, Coleen Rooney shared a massive revelation.

Rebekah Vardy is suing Coleen Rooney for libel after she publicly accused her of leaking stories to The Sun on Instagram in 2019.

The trial kicked off last week and this morning, Coleen is in the witness box giving her evidence.

Sky News reports that Rebekah’s lawyer Hugh Tomlinson described a plan that was set out to figure out who was leaking the stories to the press as a “serious and concerted operation” as Coleen defends her actions.

But there’s new evidence coming into play today that has been revealed by none other than Coleen herself, saying she received “suspicious” DMs from Rebekah before any of this started.

She said at the time her Instagram post felt important but now it has been “made bigger than what it is.”

Discussing the posts that only Rebekah saw on her account which Coleen believes led to the leaks, she said: “I did it so it looked like I was doing a regular story update.

“Sometimes I do quite a few, it depends on what I’m doing at the time.”

This was when she was asked about a message she received from Rebekah, saying she felt like she was in “tough times” and when there were stories in the news, she said Rebekah would message her more than usual.

Coleen then admitted she believes that this was Rebekah “fishing for information”.

In a series of Instagram messages shared between the two, Rebekah sent some apparently “suspicious” ones while Coleen was holidaying in Mexico.

In one, Rebekah said: “Better weather than I’ve had, have fun.”

When asked if they were suspicious, Coleen said: “I thought that it could be, yes.”

She was then asked if they could be friendly messages, replying: “It could be if I didn’t find out what I found out.”

Tomlinson then asked about a post on her private Instagram grid, where Coleen believes it was used for a news story about her allegedly making her husband return to England to have a baby girl.

It referenced Coleen having a “difficult year”, as did the story. Tomlinson said that there was nothing that could link Rebekah to it despite Coleen insisting there is.

She said: “From what I suspected, when it’s all added up, I believe this is Ms Vardy’s account.”

Despite all of this, she did say that her message to Rebekah to congratulate her on her last pregnancy was “genuine”.

In October 2019, Rooney, the wife of former England star Wayne, carried out a months-long “sting operation” in which she posted fake stories on her personal Instagram page which she believed only Vardy could see.

She later accused Vardy, the wife of Leicester City striker Jamie, of being the culprit when these fake stories were leaked to the press. Rebekah has denied the allegations from the beginning.
