There has been an on-going legal battle between Taylor Swift and DJ David Mueller since 2013.
Mueller was a radio DJ who worked for KYGO-FM in Denver, Colorado in 2013 and alleges he was falsely accused of lifting Taylor Swift’s skirt and touching her bottom at a meet and greet event according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Mueller fired back with a counter-claim saying that Swift’s accusations had damaged his reputation and standing in his industry.
His lawyer wrote:
“The contention that Mr. Mueller lifted up Ms. Swift’s skirt and grabbed her bottom, while standing with his girlfriend, in front of Ms. Swift’s photographer and Ms. Swift’s highly trained security personnel, during a company-sponsored, VIP, backstage meet-and-greet, is nonsense.”
Swift countersued for battery and assault last October, seeking damages from Mueller, who was fired from his position as a result of the incident. Swift’s team say they have been given ‘evidence’ of his crime.
Mueller has maintained that it was a case of mistaken identity.
Taylor’s lawyers are very confident: “Resolution of this counterclaim will demonstrate that Mueller alone was the perpetrator of the humiliating and wrongful conduct targeted against Ms. Swift, and will serve as an example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts.”
