Doireann Garrihy slams trolls who are 'ruining her life' with fake accounts

Doireann Garrihy said the fake accounts are "soul-destroying".

Doireann Garrihy has slated trolls who set up fake accounts claiming to be her.

The presenter said people are lying about competitions and are pretending to be her.

She said numerous people have contacted her about the fake competitions. Speaking on her Instagram story, Doireann said:  "Honestly, if I had a euro for every time someone’s messaged me being like ‘Hi Doireann, just wondering if this is a real competition you’re running?"

She said the fake accounts are "soul-destroying" for both her and her followers.

"It is soul destroying, I report all of the pages… someone is trying to f***ing ruin my life," she said.

Doireann has urged her followers to report the fake accounts if they spot any.

The presenter continued, "If you see these pages on Facebook, please do me a favour and report them."

Earlier this week, RTÉ confirmed Doireann will return for the next season of Dancing with the Stars. Both Doireann and Jennifer Zamparelli will return as presenters.

Doireann is also set to host another series with her RTÉ 2FM co-hosts Carl Mullan and Donncha O'Callaghan. The trio will host a new hidden camera series on RTÉ.
