Dolly Parton Wants a Role on a Hit Netflix Show and All is Right With the World

Yes to this. Yes please.

Long before there was Clueless, or Mean Girls, or Bridesmaids… there was 9 to 5.

The movie brought Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and the one and only Dolly Parton together on screen in a comedy classic that’s now 35 years old, but still as funny and charming as it was at first watch.

The plot centred on three women who plot to blackmail their “sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot” boss after one of the women accidentally places rat poison in his coffee.

Parton went on to earn an Oscar nomination for the film’s title song.

In the years since, all three stars have maintained their status as ageless legends of the entertainment industry.

Just last year, Fonda and Tomlin paired up once more for the very well-received Grace and Frankie, a Netflix original comedy that has already been confirmed for a second series.

Now, it seems that a full 9 to 5 reunion might be on the cards.

Speaking at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Thursday, Dolly said: “I told them whenever I get a little block of time, I’d love to come be on the show.”

“We always talked about a reunion.”

Dolly, 69, went on to joke about a 9 to 5 follow-up, suggesting at this point in time that a possible title could be “Ninety-Five”.
