Domino Kirke and Penn Badgeley have shared their pregnancy news.

In a moving Instagram post, Domino spoke of ‘pregnancy after loss’ and how much the couple treasure this pregnancy after having been through two miscarriages.

Domino spoke of how her unborn baby has taught her and her husband to be in the present, “to stay in the day in a way they’ve never had to”.

She wrote about how as a birth attendant and doula, she has been through it all and now it’s time to detach from that and appreciate her personal experience.

On the road again… pregnancy after loss is whole other thing. After two miscarriages in a row we were ready to call it. I stopped trusting my body and started to accept the fact that I was done. As a birth attendant, I’ve seen and heard it all. It takes everything I’ve got to detach lovingly from the losses I’ve been present for and be in my own experience. When I was pregnant at 25, I knew nothing. I had no community. I dove in blissfully unaware about birth and its mysteries. Now, with 10 years worth of experience to pull from, I treasure my birth community and the knowledge I have. You’re already teaching us how to stay in the day in a way we’ve never had to, little one. Thank you.

Domino spoke of being pregnant at 25 – she is mum to ten-year-old Cassius Riley, her son from a previous relationship with musician Morgan O’Kane.

Domino says that after ten years, she has so much more knowledge and “appreciates her community” with this pregnancy proving a lot different to when she gave birth to Cassius.

The couple married in 2017 and had two wedding parties – an intimate ceremony in Brooklyn and a star-studded bash in upstate New York a few months later, attended by fashion designer Zac Posen and TV star Debra Messing among others.
