It seems like most of the royal family goes by some form of nickname – at least, among each other.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte reportedly call Prince Charles “Grandpa Wales”and Prince Phillip is said to refer to Queen Elizabeth as “cabbage”.

Meanwhile, Prince Phillip is said to call his new daughter-in-law, Meghan Markle, Tungsten – yes, really.

Meghan reportedly calls Queen Elizabeth “Queen Mama, and refers to Prince Harry as “my love”.

And Prince William is said to refer to Kate Middleton as “poppet”, while she calls him “my love”.

Prince George even has one for himself.

But Kate Middleton has now revealed her nickname for Princess Charlotte – and it may be our favourite one yet.

The Daily Mail report that the Duchess of Cambridge revealed the sweet moniker while meeting well-wishers during her walkabout in Belfast on Wednesday.

Blogger Laura-Ann took her two young sons to meet Kate and Prince William while the royals were visiting the city’s Windsor Park stadium.

Following the event, footage surfaced of the Duchess telling Laura-Ann’s two-year-old son “what a cool name” he had and that he looked “very smart” in his bow tie.

The mum-of-two recalled:

“So then she asked how old Bertie [her older son] is, and I said he is four and she said ‘oh he’s the same age as Lottie’ – she calls her Lottie!

“I wish there was more videos because I can’t remember what she said, or I said- she’s my idol, I absolutely love her!”

Like we said, it’s adorable.
