EastEnders actor Shane Richie has said that he is broke due to Covid. Known best for his role as Alfie Moon in the BBC soap, Richie spoke about how he has almost no money since the beginning of the pandemic and has been living off his savings. The actor was set to go on tour as well as taking part in a TV series and stage performances over Christmas. Unfortunately due to the pandemic all of Richie's work was cancelled for the year and now the soap opera star says he's having to borrow money to get by. "And now I am literally skint!" Digital Spy reports. "You save money for a rainy day but you don't expect the rainy day to last six months. "Thankfully I've been able to borrow money from mates, my family and the bank and my wife is now very happy we can finally pay off the credit card!" Richie is now set to appear on reality TV show I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, which begins on ITV on November 15. "We got the call in January and I agreed to do it because it was the 20th one," Shane said. "My kids were old enough to travel to Australia and they wanted to meet Ant & Dec. We were all really excited."
