Episode eight is out now!

“Amy is not malicious or vindictive and she is certainly not a bully.”

The family and friends of Love Island’s Amy Hart have taken to Instagram to release a statement following thousands of nasty comments about the Islander.

Posting the statement to her Instagram account, her family writes that they were horrified to see so many mean comments and even death threats towards the contestant following Joe and Elma’s departure from the villa.

It appears as though people are blaming Amy for not supporting Lucie enough, being a bully and bringing a negative presence to the villa. But, the family are hurting for themselves and Amy and so, have stood in her defence.

The statement reads…

“The volume of hateful comments and death threats we have received over the last couple days has been completely off the scale and extremely upsetting.”

Joe has also spoken out over the negative abuse he got online while he was in the villa.

Giving his first interview with The Sun, Joe spoke about his relationship with Lucie.

“I didn’t manipulate or abuse her,” he said. “I am gutted that it has been perceived in that way because it wasn’t like that at all.

“I always had Lucie’s best interests at heart and I promise you I would do everything and anything to help her because she had a hard time in there and didn’t get on with the girls. I was trying to help her and make her experience as amazing as possible. I thought I did right.”
