Jim McCann has died at the age of 70.
The singer, who grew up in Rathgar in Dublin, had a successful solo career and was a permanent member of The Dubliners between 1974 and 1979.
In 2002 McCann was diagnosed with throat cancer which subsequently affected his ability to sing.
