N-Dubz star Dappy has been charged with assault in the UK.
According to Essex police, the alleged incident took place outside a nightclub on Thursday morning.
"Costadinos Contostavlos (Dappy), aged 26, from Sandridge, St Albans, has been charged with an assault by beating following an incident outside a nightclub in Moulsham Street in Chelmsford in the early hours of February 27” a police spokesperson said.
"He has been released on bail prior to his appearance at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court on March 19."
Earlier this week Dappy was told that he was no longer under the threat of bankruptcy, after paying off a tax bill – the singer owed about £140,000 to HM Revenue & Customs who eventually withdrew the petition for bankruptcy against the star.
