Hannah Horvath Won’t Be Going to the University of Iowa – Film Crew Banned From Campus

HBO need to find a new campus.

Hannah Horvath might not get her happy ending after all – the University of Iowa has denied HBO’s request to film Girls on its campus.

A writer for the hit-show Sarah Heyward, who is a graduate of the writing program Hannah has been accepted to in the season three finale, is believed to have inspired the decision to help the show’s lead character pursue her dreams of becoming a published author.

Filming planned for our favourite college graduate seem to have been suspended, with Tom Moore, a spokesman for the university explaining the decision to reject the request. Speaking to Press Citizen, Moore said:

“While we are pleased that the Iowa Writers’ Workshop is receiving national attention and that our graduate is doing well in her career, our general practice is to not allow filming, due to potential disruption to campus”.

The show, which is credited for being ultra-realistic, will now have to find an alternative campus to film the next season of the HBO show.
