Holly Willoughby reveals the one thing you’ll never hear her talk about

Fair.

Holly Willoughby is no stranger when it comes to body shaming.

The This Morning presenter has had her fair share of criticism over her appearance and her weight loss in recent years. Starting to lose weight in 2017, Holly said she faced criticism for having a curvier figure and then, criticised again in recent times for being too thin.

Realistically, understanding that there is just no winning on the matter especially when you’re going head first against online trolls, in a recent interview with The Times, Holly revealed why she won’t be mentioning her weight anytime soon.

“Yes, I very deliberately don’t talk about it. Just because I don’t think it’s helpful to the conversation, for women generally. As long as you are healthy and happy, that’s really all that matters,” she said.

“It’s a personal thing for me, and I think that people get obsessive with it.”

Continuing, she explained that she has interviewed people with eating disorders and their families – Holly has seen how problems with weight can destroy people’s lives and so, feels the conversation and fascination with weight does more damage than good.

“On this show, I’ve sat across the sofa from mums and dads who’ve lost children to anorexia, or their children are currently going through it, and they sit there and say, ‘It doesn’t help that there’s such a fascination with weight at the moment.’

“Everybody knows what leads to a healthy lifestyle, but it’s not up to me to give you a blow-by-blow account of what I’ve eaten that day. It’s not helpful, and it’s not what’s important.”

Preach.

We recently sat down with Roz Purcell who too believes a shift in the conversation is needed. Revealing that she was once fixated with her weight, it has taken the 28-year-old years to accept and praise her body. You can read her interview here.
