Lena Dunham won't be quick to pick up another acting role when Hannah Horvath has her day, according to an upcoming cover interview with the star.
Speaking to
Glamour magazine, Lena has reportedly said:
"I don't know if I'm going to want to act anymore. I'm always relieved on the days I don't have to. I'd rather give parts to other women than be the woman having the parts."
Dunham, who recently hosted
Saturday Night Live, and is a regular
contributor to the show, has taken the starring role in nearly all of her cinematic projects to date — from Aura in Tiny Furniture, which also starred her real-life mom and sister, to Hannah Horvath on
Girls.
Dunham was a breakout star in 2o13, and the writer/ actress/ director is reportedly working on her second show for HBO with
Girls executive producer Jenni Konner. The pilot will be based on the life of longtime Bergdorf Goodman personal shopper and New York icon Betty Halbreich.
With the success of
Girls season 2, we suspect it'll still be a year or two before Dunham hides behind the camera.
