An ‘untouched’ photo of Cindy Crawford that went viral in recent weeks is a fake.
John Russo, the photographer who shot the supermodel for Marie Claire Mexico, has spoken out about the image, which appeared to show the 49-year-old’s wrinkled stomach and was widely praised as being empowering to women.
“It has been falsely claimed that this photograph represents an un-retouched image of Cindy Crawford. This is not true,” he said.
“It is a fraudulent altered version of my photograph. I am grateful that this fact has been brought to the public’s attention and that corrections are being run in the media.”
Husband Rande Gerber also shared a photo on Instagram, showing Crawford looking slim and toned while on holidays for Valentine’s Day.
