Jay-Z and Beyoncé have apparently donated "tens of thousands" to bail out those involved in protests in Ferguson and Baltimore, it has been claimed.
Activist and journalist Dream Hampton, who ghostwrote Jay-Z's 2010 biography Decoded, took to Twitter this morning to hit back at those who claimed the power couple do not do enough to support black communities.
Hampton claimed that the Carters have been quietly sending money to organisations including Black Lives Matter, which was set up in 2012 after the death of Trayvon Martin.
She added that the couple have also been active in bailing out those involved in protests in Baltimore and Ferguson, which were sparked by the shooting of Michael Brown by a police officer in 2014.
