Jessica Chastain was inspired by an unexpected person for her latest role

"So many people have said to me that I’ve never looked better."

“It was quite a departure for me.”

Jessica Chastain has revealed that she turned to the Kardashian family for inspiration when it came to her role in Molly’s Game.

It tells the true story of Molly Bloom, an Olympic hopeful whose ski career comes to a premature end after a freak accident, and how she ended up running highly exclusive underground poker games for the rich and famous.

The Zero Dark Thirty star recently opened up about how women struggle for success “in a society where men are making all the rules” – and how she ended up finding inspiration in the famous E! family.

She explained to W Magazine:

“I was like, ‘Oh, my gosh—the Kardashians are an incredible example of women who have their own sense of entrepreneurial power.'”

Because Bloom resembled the infamous reality TV family, the Oscar nominee turned to none other than Kim Kardashian West for inspiration.

Or, at least, one of her tutorials on face shading and contouring.

The actress continued:

“And in real life, Molly looked a lot like them.

“For research, I actually watched Kim’s tutorial on face shading and contouring.

“As the movie goes on, Molly transforms into this idea of what a woman has to be in order to be heard: The heels get higher, the necklines are lower, the hair is longer.

“It was quite a departure for me, physically.

“And the strange thing is, I don’t look like myself at all in this film, and so many people have said to me that I’ve never looked better.”
