“Gone so quickly, there was no time to say goodbye”
Losing a parent is one of the biggest heartbreaks we’ll face in life. It’s the type of loss you never get over, but one you simply learn to live with. Karen Koster bravely spoke out about her mum’s unexpected death on her one-year anniversary.
Taking to Instagram, the presenter said they didn’t get the chance to say goodbye to her mother Brenda.

Alongside some beautiful photos of her and her mum, the presenter said:
“Been missing mum a year today. Gone so quickly, there was no time to say goodbye. Hate that she’s missed so much, a communion, new house, new puppy…all the news she’d love.”
Karen continued, “I feel like I just left her house yesterday with the kids, waving goodbye with a promise to tell her what Eve would like for her birthday the next week. A birthday she missed, but which we had in her back garden anyway.”
She added, “Making each day count as much as possible… as life can turn on a dime, just like it did for our family, a year ago today.”
