Kris Humphries is Not to Blame for Prolonged Divorce Proceedings Despite Claims made by Kim Kardashian

Kris Humphries is not to blame for the prolonged delay in his divorce proceedings, despite suggestions to the contrary from Kim Kardashian’s legal team.

The basketball player has been accused of purposely prolonging the proceedings in order to prevent Kim from having the opportunity to marry her boyfriend, rapper Kanye West.

According to Radar Online a source close to Kris denied this.

"Here are the facts...Kris had no intention of going after the men in Kim's life, meaning current boyfriend, Kanye West, but was forced to because her lawyer, Laura Wasser, formally subpoenaed his gal pal, Myla Sinanaj," said the source.

Kim's legal team has accused Kris of purposefully delaying their divorce

"Kris' legal team had no other choice but to go after her personal life as well, which means more witnesses to depose, and again, more delays.

“Scheduling depositions for Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner have also been problematic, as both claim very chaotic schedules. Kris has a right to prepare for trial, and the longer the Kardashian clan drag their feet in scheduling depositions, the longer this thing is going to go on.

“It's worth noting that Kris' deposition was completed almost two months ago."

The couple would have celebrated their wedding last week if their marriage had lasted more than 72 days.

The NBA star said he was tricked into marrying the E! Network star for the sake of her show’s ratings.

"Kris just wants the truth to come out and is dedicated to seeing this thing through. He is in no rush and Kim's camp's threats of releasing hidden footage that makes him look bad and other absurd claims don't deter him," the insider says.

Kim and Kris married in August 2011 but split after just 72 days

"Kim's deposition should take place in the next several weeks if they can all agree on a time and day. Just getting the lawyers on both sides to agree is becoming increasingly hard. Kris is getting ready for the NBA season and will defer to his lawyers.

“Kris absolutely expects that Kanye West will also be deposed because he has been in Kim's life for a very long time and Kris' team looks forward to questioning him,” she said.

The next hearing is scheduled for November and it is likely that the divorce trial will not take place until 2013.
