Laura Whitmore shares birthday tribute to Caroline Flack

Sarah McKenna Barry

Yesterday marked what would have been Caroline’s 43rd birthday.

Former Love Island host Laura Whitmore was among the stars paying tribute to Caroline Flack on what would have been her 43rd birthday.

The TV presenter, who hosted the dating competition before Laura, passed away in February 2020. She was just 40-years-old.

Laura posted a snap of her with Caroline on her Instagram story and wished her a “happy heavenly birthday”.

Iain Stirling – Laura’s husband – also paid tribute to Caroline with a post on Instagram.

“Happy Birthday friend,” he wrote. “Thinking of you today.”

Olly Murs shared clips from his time on X Factor with Caroline and in the caption, he wrote: “If the music was on we was dancing! Happy birthday caz x”

This summer saw a music festival – Flackstock – celebrate the memory of Caroline.

The single-day event took place in July in Berkshire, and featured performances from a number of musicians and comedians. Money raised from the event was donated to Choose Love, Samaritans, Mind and the Charlie Waller Trust.

Announcing the festival, Caroline’s mother Christine Flack spoke about her daughter’s love for music and festivals.

She said: “My Caroline was never more herself or happier than at a music festival with her sister and her friends.

“Flackstock is the wonderful idea of those who knew her best and the perfect way to remember her singing, dancing and most of all laughing.

“Not only is Flackstock the most positive way to honour Carrie, but charities that she loved will benefit from the proceeds.”

She added: “My family are so proud that so many people who knew Carrie loved her so very much.”
