It looks like King Charles is ready to reconcile with Prince Harry

Ellen Fitzpatrick

Tensions have been high.

It appears that a new report is claiming that King Charles III is ready to reconcile with his son, Prince Harry.

The report comes after Harry claimed that his family “have shown no willingness to reconcile” in a new tell-all interview with ITV’s Tom Bradby.

The Duke of Sussex has recently sat down for two interviews ahead of his bombshell memoir Spare being released, and both are set to air on January 8th.

A source told The Telegraph: “Those close to the king insist that he has always made clear how much he loves both of his sons, keeping communication channels open throughout the last few years, despite the many barbs from California.”

Insiders added to the publication that Harry’s version of events was “wrong” and Charles and Harry have actually been in contact since he left his post as a senior royal. They even went as far as saying they met up with each other several times during Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations last June.

This report is claiming that their relationship has “occasionally been tense” but that Charles has “reiterated that his door remains open and that the duke and [his wife Meghan Markle] are welcome at any time.”

King Charles is also set to invite Harry and Meghan to his coronation on May 6, 2023, the report claims.

In the trailer for Harry’s upcoming interview with ITV, he says: “It never needed to be this way” before adding “I want a family, not an institution.”

Another clip shows Harry saying: “They feel as though it is better to keep us somehow as the villains.”

And supposedly referencing the Royal Family, he continues: “They’ve shown absolutely no willingness to reconcile.”

The teaser ends with Harry saying: “I would like to get my father back, I would like to have my brother back.”

The 90 minute programme will be broadcast two days before Prince Harry’s autobiography ‘Spare’ is published on 10 January.

The interview is said to cover a range of subjects including his personal relationships, never-before-heard details surrounding the death of his mother, Diana, and a look ahead at his future.

Harry: The Interview is on ITV1 and ITVX at 9pm on January 8.
