Davide shares words of wisdom..
Davide Sanclimenti met girlfriend Ekin-Su on series 8 of ITV's Love Island and although their relationship was explosive in the villa, they've been inseparable on the outside.
Engagement rumours sparked once again following the couples recent trip to the Maldives.
Davide posted some romantic photos with Ekin-Su in front of the sunset on his Instagram.
He captioned it: "They told me that to make her fall in love; I had to make her laugh. But every time she laughs, I'm the one who falls in love."
Followers immediately assumed that the pair got engaged and flooded the comments with questions.
Previous Islander Louis Morrison even wrote: "I was ready for the [ring] picture at the end."
Much to the upset of the die hard Ekinde supporters, Davide was quick to shut the engagement rumours down.
He said: "I've only known Ekin-Su for six months."
"Even if we are so close, the reality is that we know each other for only six months so it would be nice to see at least a two-year relationship before you commit for life.
"This is what I always will delight with fans to understand, that even if everything is perfect, it seems a dream, you need to be realistic."
Davide told the MailOnline: "And before you get engaged for life, I think it would be wise to wait two years at least, you know, so you can discover more about the other person."
Fans remarked that Davide would definitely be one to plan an over the top engagement and we have to agree.
There'll be no confusion when the famous Ekinde put a ring on it.
Last December, engagement rumours circled after Ekin-Su posted a sweet video from her and Davide's time in Rome.
While having dinner and drinking champagne on the terrace, she unwraps a stunning Cartier promise ring Davide gifted her.
She wrote: ""
Our first Christmas together and our first time in Rome together. It was missing something on that hands tho."
For now, there's no sign of the two tying the knot but we're timing the two years Davide.
