Love Island’s Georgia releases a savage statement about her split with Sam

Keeley Ryan

“I was loyal throughout.”

Earlier this week, Love Island’s Sam Bird and Georgia Steele announced that they had split up.

Initially, Sam told his social media followers that he was “devastated” that the pair had split “for reasons I can’t bring myself to comment on at the moment.

Georgia later released a statement of her own, saying that she will “always care about him” – and, much like Sam’s statement, she left out any further details of the split.

Since then, there’s been plenty of back-and-forth and speculation  about the reason why they called it quit – including reports that allegations Georgia had cheated on Sam with her manage and PA, Stevie Lux.

Both Sam and Georgia denied these allegations, however on Thursday night the 25-year-old personal trainer confirmed the reason behind their split “involves her ex.”

Today [October 19], Georgia took to Instagram to issue another statement about their breakup – insisting there was “NO third party involved.”

She has turned off comments on the post.

Her statement read:

“Last night, Sam told me he was going to the press so I just want to make clear ahead of any interviews he does that there was NO third party involved in the break up between him and I.

“Sam thinks I cheated because he went through my phone, read and took screen shots of banter I had between me and my best mate which he’s now threatening to sell to the press.

“The banter was about my ex boyfriend from which he’s then put tow and two together and come with an imaginary scenario.

“I will put my hands up and say yeah, I do admit I went round his house and stayed the night int he spare room but NOTHING did happen. I’m honestly not like that.

“I went over to collect some things which he had of mine which I needed for the flat and then need up having a heart to heart as I was very down as me and Sam had been constantly arguing.

“Sam now wants to believe that I did cheat on him but in reality the relationship ended due to the fact that I fell out of love.

“He was a lovely boyfriend and I did really love him but moving in so soon and the public pressure did make me feel very trapped. I gave our relationship everything as I really did want it to work and I was loyal throughout.

“But you can’t help your feelings.

“I’m stubborn and wanted to prove the public wrong about me and him but the reality is it just didn’t work.

“I really do hope he finds the girl for him as he has so much to give and does deserve to find love. And I really hope I find the man for me too in the future.”

The pair are the fifth Love Island couple to split this year.

Charlie Brake announced via Instagram Stories last month that he had split from Ellie Brown; while Laura Crane and Jack Fowler also recently announced their split.

Meanwhile, Laura Anderson and Paul Knops have gone their separate ways and Samira Mighty and Frankie Foster’s have made the decision to call time on their relationship.
