Love Island’s Georgia Steel has issued an emotional statement about her split from her co-star, Sam Bird.
The 25-year-old personal trainer confirmed that he and Georgia had split earlier tonight, admitting he was too upset to reveal the reason behind the split.
And now Georgia has shared a statement of her own, telling her Instagram followers she was “very sad to say” that the couple had gone their separate ways
Adding that she will “always care about him”, she said:
“However, please understand this is a hard time for us both. Thank you.”
The pair, who got together late in this season of Love Island, appeared to be going from strength to strength after their time in the villa.
They had recently moved in together – and were all smiles as they walked the hot pink carpet at ITV Palooza yesterday.
Sam and Georgia are the fifth Love Island couple to split this year.
Charlie Brake announced via Instagram Stories last month that he had split from Ellie Brown; while Laura Crane and Jack Fowler also recently announced their split.
Meanwhile, Laura Anderson and Paul Knops have gone their separate ways and Samira Mighty and Frankie Foster’s have made the decision to call time on their relationship.
