Love Island star Will Young has opened up about the rumours about his sexuality during his appearance on the show.

Will appeared on the latest series of the ITV dating show, coming in fifth place with his now girlfriend Jessie Wynter.

During his time on the series, rumours began swirling online about Will’s sexuality with many making the assumption that he could be gay.

Despite coupling up with Jessie and staying with her throughout the show, he opened up to the Mirror about it and told fans that he wasn’t gay.

“I was 100% myself in the villa. I’m happy with myself and I’m happy with Jessie,” Will said.

“My brother is gay, and so I’m all for it. I don’t think anyone can say that to me in a negative way. As a person I’m very outgoing and charismatic, and I’m not going to change.”

Jessie then chimed in to back up Will’s statement, saying: “It’s 2023 and judging people’s sexuality is outdated and needs to get out of the window.”

Since leaving the villa, the couple has only spent one day apart and have plans to live together in the UK – meaning Jessie would be moving from her native Australia.

Speaking to MailOnline, the couple revealed they are planning on living and working together on Will’s Buckinghamshire farm.

Will said: “Jessie is moving to the farm for the next month or two and she will be doing lambing and all of that, which I’m super, super excited about.

“When she visited for the first time this week, I gave her some wellies and she was getting really stuck in and feeding the animals, it made me fall in love with her even more.”
