Matt Le Blanc splits from Irish girlfriend Aurora Mulligan after six years

“Matt has taken the news particularly hard.”

Matt Le Blanc has reportedly split from his partner Aurora Mulligan after six years together.

A source close to the couple told The Sun that the relationship had simply “run its course”.

The pair first met in 2016 during Matt’s time as a presenter on Top Gear, where Aurora worked as a producer.

The news comes as the Friends star was photographed looking downcast in LA over the weekend.

“Matt and Aurora’s relationship has run its course. It’s all over. It’s a huge shame and Matt has taken the news particularly hard, as anyone would,” the source revealed.

“He and Aurora fell for each on Top Gear and although there was a pretty big age gap they were a really great match.

“But when he announced he was leaving Top Gear and took on other work, it was hard for them. He’s mainly based out of LA and was travelling a lot while Aurora was working in the UK.”

In 2017, the couple made their red carpet debut at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York and later attended the UK launch of Top Gear’s 25th series as an official couple.

The couple kept a low profile on social media, preferring to keep their relationship out of the public eye.

Following the Friends 20th Anniversary Reunion in 2021, Matt Le Blanc became an overnight sensation on Irish Twitter when one particular picture of him as Joey Tribanni went viral.

The meme – which was potentially one of the biggest highlights of 2021 – resonated with almost every single Irish person as the actor was dubbed “Irish uncle”.

Even Matt himself saw the humour in it. Speaking with Ray D’Arcy on RTÉ Radio One, his Episodes co-star Stephen Mangan said:

“I’m not sure Matt really understands what was happening. Obviously, he is Italian, but he saw the funny side of it. He’s got a good sense of humour.”
