“Imagine the audacity of also talking to other people at our table.”

Both Laura Whitmore and Maya Jama have called out the press for pitting women against each other after an outlet claimed they ignored each other at the Brit Awards.

Former Love Island host Laura Whitmore was the first to shut down any speculation of a feud when she posted a screenshot of a Daily Mail article on her Instagram story.

The headline of the article reads: “Laura Whitmore and Maya Jama appear to IGNORE each other at BRITs”

The photo shows Laura and Maya at the same table at the awards show, speaking to different people.

Calling out the publication, Laura wrote: “I’m so sick of the media constantly trying to run this narrative with women. Imagine the audacity of also talking to other people at our table.

“Stop trying to put women against each other and start celebrating women supporting women!”

She then tagged Maya and wrote that they “had a great night”.

This sentiment was shared by the current host of the show, Maya Jama, who reposted Laura’s story on Instagram.

She added: “Silly, silly, silly. I think very highly of @thewhitmore & think she’s an angel. Maybe quote that instead.”

Maya Jama was announced as Laura Whitmore’s successor after the latter announced her departure from Love Island last year.

Since taking over the gig on this year’s winter edition of Love Island, Maya has said that she is “overwhelmed” by the positive feedback.

After the first episode, she took to Instagram to thank fans for all their support.

She wrote: “Overwhelmed from last night, thankyou so much for your kind words.”
