She’s iconic.

Maya Jama has gotten emotional after making her Love Island debut and has shared some behind the scenes snaps from the first episode to thank fans for their support.

Maya took over the role of the Love Island presenter after Laura Whitmore stepped down from the gig following the season eight finale.

Entering the villa on Monday night, Maya immediately took ownership of the villa and received an incredible reception from those watching at home.

As she greeted the new bunch of islanders, fans commented on how natural her presenting style is and that the role was made for her.

Taking to Instagram, Maya shared a post to thank her fans for the support they showed her after the show aired.

Posting pictures of herself in the now iconic black cut out dress, she wrote: “Overwhelmed from last night, thankyou so much for you’re kind words.”

“Who’s ready for tonight’s episode ??”

And naturally, some of her celebrity pals took to the comment section to give Maya even more praise, with Little Mix star Leigh-Anne Pinnock saying: “Actual vision.”

Chicken Shop Date’s Amelia Dimoldenberg said: “You were amazing, a natural! The main reason I’m watching.”

Love Island’s very own Samira Mighty said: “Unbelievable”, while Vicky Pattison added: “Stunning mate.”

Fans were also under the same impression, with one person saying: “Is Maya Jama allowed to win?”

Another said: “Just give maya jama the 50k now.”

While a third wrote: “No I am sorry they cannot be sending Maya in looking like THAT. Diabolical. Can you imagine spending all night trying to look fit and she comes in.”

Anda a fourth penned: “I’m not sure I’m ever going to be able to get over Maya. Every time she appears on the screen my jaw drops.”

Love Island returns tonight at 9pm on Virgin Media Two and Virgin Media Player.
