Awkward.
Meghan and Harry have seen three royal aides quit since they got married in May.
This is pretty uncommon, to say the least.
A Palace source has said that these exits from employment are “starting to look like a stampede”.
The royal couple have said goodbye to Samantha Cohen, their private secretary.
They also previously bid farewell to Edward Lane, Samantha Cohen’s predecessor.
As you can figure out, this means that Samantha has been in the role of private secretary for less than 6 months.
A personal assistant named Melissa has also left Kensington palace.
Kensington Palace sources have described Melissa as “hugely talented”.
They told the Daily Mail: “Melissa is a hugely talented person.”
“She played a pivotal role in the success of the Royal Wedding and will be missed by everyone in the Royal Household.”
According to The Express, one of the sources described Melissa’s exit as: “A real shock, why would she want to leave such a prestigious job so soon?”
Another commented: “To lose one member of the household could happen to anyone.”
“To lose three in a few months is starting to look like a stampede.”
Edward Lane left his post, having worked for Prince Harry for fifteen years.
A spokesman for Prince Harry said:
“His Royal Highness is hugely grateful to Ed for his hard work during a period that has seen the launch and growth of the Invictus Games, countless tours around the world, and the detailed planning for his wedding.”
