A royal source has confirmed the news, saying:
"Amy is leaving. It’s very sad for her colleagues, as she is a really popular member of staff."
The news has come as a surprise to many, as Amy had been tipped to succeed Samantha Cohen.
Samantha is due to step down as the Duchess’s private secretary after 17 years with the Royal Family.
It has been reported that Amy is leaving the royal household entirely, and is planning to move overseas.
Interesting.
However, Amy will not leave without helping Meghan and Harry settle into their new home in Frogmore Cottage.
A friend of Amy's said:
"She has agreed to stay on to help them with the birth of the baby and organise their new household, but will then move on."
Fair enough, tbh.
Amy's exit means that Meghan has lost three important royal aides in just a few months, which doesn't really look great.
Last November, Meghan’s PA, Melissa Touabti, quit less than six months after the royal wedding.
Likewise, Samantha Cohen is also leaving her post in the royal household, after almost 20 years of service.
Let's hope they get this staffing issue under control before the baby arrives.
