This has not been a good month for former Glee star Naya Rivera.

It emerged in recent weeks that the actress, who played Santana Lopez, had split from fiancée Big Sean and was allegedly later fired from the musical series due to a bust-up with producers over co-star Lea Michele. To add insult to injury, rumours had also been circulating that Rivera had been dropped from her record label Columbia but a spokesperson for the 27-year-old today dismissed the claims as “absolutely false”.

“The newest story claiming that Naya Rivera was dropped from her recording contract with Columbia Records is absolutely false. If the ‘news’ outlets who put out this story had bothered to contact anyone from her team, they would have learned this was false,” read a statement to US Weekly.

“To be clear, any rumours or statements made as fact, that Naya Rivera was fired or let go from Glee or dropped from her recording contract, are categorically false. Someone obviously has an agenda to damage Naya’s good name and the media are failing at their duty to responsibly vet their sources and verify what is true and what is not. Naya’s attorneys are prepared to take any and all legal action to enforce and protect her rights.”

Rivera released her debut single Sorry with the label last year but has yet to release an album.
