Such a big role.

Nicola Coughlan is really living her dream as she has announced she has just landed the role of a lifetime.

Once struggling to book gigs while living in London, Nicola got her big break when she booked the role of Clare on Derry Girls before making it even bigger when she nabbed the role of Penelope Featherington in Bridgerton.

But with her latest gig, Nicola couldn’t be more excited and honestly, it could be the most well known character she’ll be playing.

Signing on to play Nancy in Audibles’ version of Oliver Twist, the Galway native took to Instagram to share the news saying: “Slight upgrade from when I did Oliver in school and played Unnamed Workhouse Orphan Number 4.

“Genuinely a lifelong dream to play Nancy(!), with this cast(!!), and Sam Mendes to top it all off(!?) So delighted.”

Also starring in this production is Brian Cox, Daniel Kaluuya and Kit Connor.

Immediately after sharing the news, Nicola’s comment section was filled with her co-stars and friends’ congratulations, with her Bridgerton co-star Luke Newton saying: “This is mega.”

Her fellow Derry Girls star Louisa Harland commented: “Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.”

While her good friend Jonathan Van Ness sent a bunch of love-heart-eyed emojis.

The audiobook version of the Charles Dickens’ classic is to be released on Audible and will also star I May Destroy You’s Paapa Essiedu, Gavin & Stacey’s Julia Davis, Ted Lasso’s Nick Mohammed, Sex Education’s Patricia Allison and Motherland’s Diane Morgan.
