One Republic’s Ryan Tedder says that Adele and Beyoncé collaboration was just a joke

We knew it was too good to be true.

One Republic’Ryan Tedder has said he was joking about the collaboration between Adele and Beyoncé.

On Monday, reports emerged claiming that the two singers joined forces for a track on One Republic’s upcoming album, Human.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin was also said to have featured on the song.

“We have one song featuring Beyoncé and Adele with a Chris Martin piano solo on the bridge,” Tedder is said to have told Z100 New York over the weekend.

But it looks like it was way too good to be true.

The singer took to Instagram Stories on Monday evening to clarify that he had been  “utilizing ‘sarcasm’, ‘kidding’ and a ‘joke’ simultaneously” when he made the comments.

However, he noted that he would definitely be game for the collaboration if it did happen one day.

“All that said — wouldn’t that be a [fire emoji] collab? I’d stream it,” he said.

Ryan has worked with both Adele and Beyoncé on a number of their hit songs.

He helped to produce Beyoncé’s Halo, XO, and I Was Here and also worked on Rumour Has It, Turning Tables and Remedy for Adele.
