She said it was “a joke” that Lily James picked up an Emmy nomination for her role in the series

Pamela Anderson has revealed she felt “like something was stolen” from her by the television series Pam & Tommy.

The Hulu miniseries chronicles the whirlwind romance between Anderson and Motley Crue drummer Tommy Lee, with much of the show focusing on the pair’s infamous sex tape which was leaked on the internet in 1997.

The show stars Lily James as the Baywatch star and Sebastian Stan as Lee. It ended up being nominated for a number of awards, including nods Golden Globe and Emmy nods for the show’s two stars in the best actor categories.

Pam & Tommy also stuck in people’s minds for its raucous scenes, including one particular scene involving Jason Mantzoukas…

But Anderson herself has since come out and voiced her upset at the series which also saw James and Lee recreate the sex tape for the show, saying she felt “violated” by the series.

Speaking to the Guardian ahead of the release of her documentary, Pamela, A Love Story, the 55-year-old said: “How are they allowed to do that?”

“I heard she [James] had been nominated for an Emmy, but maybe that was a joke.”

Anderson doesn’t hold anything against the actor though, and instead directed her anger at the show’s creators, adding: “It’s not her fault; it’s a job. But whoever created it – well, it just feels like something else stolen.”

“The love of my life was Tommy. It wasn’t perfect but, you know, no one’s perfect”.

The 55-year-old’s new documentary, called Pamela, A Love Story, is set to premiere on January 31 and will chronicle her life and career.

In a first look at the show, Anderson discusses the controversy over her leaked sex tape, and admitted that talking about it again had caused her issues with her sleep and made her “feel sick.”

“I didn’t sleep last night at all,” Anderson says at the beginning.

“I blocked that stolen tape out of my life in order to survive, and now that it’s all coming up again, I feel sick. I want to take control of the narrative for the first time.”

The documentary will look at the ups and downs of her career, including her role in Baywatch and her recent Broadway debut in Chicago.

“I didn’t feel like I had a lot of respect,” the actress says later on in the trailer.

“I had to make a career out of the pieces left, but I’m not the damsel in distress.”
