Could it be?
Last night, Love Island fans’ hearts were broken when this series’ winner, Dani Dyer, confirmed that she had split from her co-star boyfriend, Jack Fincham.
Taking to her Instagram Stories, Dani said the pair had “come to the realisation that it’s not meant to be long term” and were planning to stay friends post-split.
Some fans took to social media to wonder if there was some kind of Love Island “curse” on the winners, noting that 2017’s winners, Kem Cetinay and Amber Davies, announced their own split around the same time last year.
Others, meanwhile, wondered if there was just a curse on the 2018 contestants. Only three pairings from this year’s season are still together.
Jack and Dani have split up? Didn't Kem and Amber split up at the exact same time this time last year? Are Love Island winners cursed?

Woah!!!! If this #JackandDani news is to be believed and they have split, then what is the point of #LoveIsland the couple who get together are cursed and there is bo point in making a show if most of the couples split up #Whathopeistherefortherestofus 💔😥

Lets face it Jack & Dani weren't going to break the Love Island curse.
Max & Jess split 6 weeks after leaving the villa.
Cara & Nathan split (before getting back together after the birth of the son)
Kem & Amber split 7 months after winning..
The winners always split..— Chelseaa Jadee (@ChelseaaJadee98) December 6, 2018
Other people theorised that there was some kind of contract the Love Island winners have been bound to follow over the last few years.
The fact that Jack and Dani split the exact same time (only a year after) than Kem and Amber is weird. Like maybe both their contracts expired at the beginning of December? 🤷♀️👀

The 2018 Love Island winners are said to have split when Dani ended things after a series of rows.
A source told The Sun:
“Dani may have said this was a mutual decision, but that’s not the case. She ended it.
“He felt they could have made it work, but she showed a hard side and called time on the relationship.”
