Love Island’s Dani Dyer has issued a statement about her breakup with Jack Fincham.

The pair, who were crowned this year’s winners, were first reported to have split on Thursday evening.

In an emotional statement on her Instagram Stories, Dani spoke about the “incredible six months” she and Jack had.

She added that they had “come to the realisation that it’s not meant to be long term.”

Her statement read:

“Jack and I have sadly decided to part ways. It’s been an incredible six months, and we will always have a place in our hearts for each other.

“But sadly, we’ve come to the realisation that it’s not meant to be long term. We both plan to stay friends. I hope you’ll all understand.”

The pair are said to have split after they started to “grow apart” when they left the villa.

A source told The Sun

“When they left the villa they really thought they would stay together forever, but reality soon set in and things started to get strained.

“They came out to a whirlwind of publicity and after a while, things started to get to them and the cracks appeared.

“They are both incredibly busy and they have decided to call time on their romance.”

The pair are the sixth Love Island couple to split this year.

In October, Sam Bird announced that he had split from Georgia Steel.

Charlie Brake announced via Instagram Stories in September that he had split from Ellie Brown; while Laura Crane and Jack Fowler also recently announced their split.

Meanwhile, Laura Anderson and Paul Knops have gone their separate ways and Samira Mighty and Frankie Foster’s have made the decision to call time on their relationship.
