Prince Charles may not seem like the cuddliest granddad in the world but he’s proven once again that his grandkids are always on his mind.

The prince, whom Prince George and Princess Charlotte call ‘Grandpa Wales’ (our hearts!), has spoken about his fears as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their first child.

Speaking at a meeting in Ghana recently, Charles said he was concerned about how the earth was being left for future generations.

“I am about to have another grandchild actually. I suspect quite a few of you may too have grandchildren or will do soon.

“It does seem to me insanity if we are going to bequeath this completely polluted, damaged and destroyed world to them.

“All grandchildren deserve a better future.”

The prince is well-known for his passion for conservation and the environment

Over the years he has thrown his weight behind issues including pollution, climate change and farming practices.

Princes Harry and William meanwhile revealed recently that their dad used to take them litter picking as kids.

“We were in Norfolk on school holidays, and went out litter picking with him,” William said in BBC documentary Prince, Son And Heir: Charles At 70.

“Both of us thought ‘This is perfectly normal, everyone must do it’.

“We’re there with our, basically, spikes, stabbing the rubbish into black plastic bags.”
