Sarah Hyland shares heartbreak after her 14-year-old cousin dies in a car accident

Heartbreaking.

Sarah Hyland took to Instagram last night to mourn the death of her cousin after his life was taken over the weekend. The 14-year-old who goes by the name of Trevor was traveling in the car alongside his father when a drunk driver struck their car killing Trevor and severely injuring his father. Trevor's father, who is Sarah's uncle is now in hospital and needing funds to undergo extensive treatment. Sharing the GoFundMe, Sarah asked for people's help to donate anything they can. The Modern Family actress also revealed the man in question, who tried to flee the scene after his car struck Sarah's relatives. A man who has two previous DUIs and currently under arrest apparently hit the car so hard, it ejected Trevor from the car despite the fact he was wearing a seatbelt.

"I hope to God he spends the rest of his life in prison," the 28-year-old wrote.

Sarah's MF castmates too rallied around her sharing the GoFundMe and their condolences for his family during this difficult time.
